Specimen Preparation

Transfer 1 mL platelet-poor plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL)

Unacceptable Conditions

Serum. Specimens collected in wrong anticoagulant. Clotted, hemolyzed, or non-frozen specimens.

Storage/Transport Temperature

CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.

Stability (from collection to initiation)

Ambient: 4 hours; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen at -70°C: 6 months; Frozen at -20°C: 3 months
